Strangeways Records mission is simple: amplify the voices of the unsung and the groundbreaking. Since our beginnings, we have been dedicating to fostering growth, innovation, and community within our catalog of artists, and loyal fans.
Our Story
Strangeways Records began in 2016 in the intense heat of Phoenix, Arizona. Longtime friends and musicians Charlie Barnes and Wayne Meadows loved the colorful music scene, but were disappointed in how little companies there were to help showcase it. With a bit of savings and a dream, the two created a home studio in a small, downtown apartment, and began their work uplifting local artists.
Since then, Strangeways grew and grew, encompassing artists from all over the Western United States, and with multiple locations with high quality studios. Despite all this growth, their dedication to artistic freedom and innovation hasn’t changed. If anything–it’s grown stronger. Strangeways helps artists achieve their vision, and supports them every step along the way.
