Haunting, ethereal, mysterious.

These are some of the words that can be used to describe Dark Matter. Formed in Bellingham, Washington in 2016, the band has created a name for themselves with their rich tapestry of mesmerizing sonic atmospheres and evocative lyricism.

Dark Matter started their career crafting gloomy gothic-rock/post-punk with their debut album “Void” (2017). Blending dark romanticism with themes of existential angst, the band was praised for their unique, deep sound. They quickly expanded their popularity to other states, eventually landing into the ears of Strangeways Records. They got signed in 2019, and released their sophomore album “Neurological” (2019) later that year. This album diversified their sound with the inclusion of synthesizers, adding industrial and darkwave elements to the mix. 2022 saw the release of their latest album “Illusion”, which took a much more atmospheric direction, influenced by shoegaze and dream pop.
